The French bank, Société Générale, has reiterated its optimistic outlook for gold. The bank’s analysts this week cited the precious metal as a crucial component of a diversified portfolio and trusted source of safety during economic downturns.
In a new outlook, analysts say gold continues to offer a substantial degree of protection against systemic risk, especially in light of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, which could lead non-aligned nations to isolate themselves from the US dollar.
Société Générale expects central banks will continue to fuel gold demand, further boosting prices.
They said, “With the first clear signs of cracks (systemic risk) and a U.S. recession now part of the 12-month investment horizon, we certainly do not wish to raise our risk profile at this juncture.”
